About 'In The Right Place'...
I am an Integrative Counsellor whose
particular interests include the psychology of attachment,
early trauma and the role of loss and how these may
continue to impact upon the present. I currently work
with adults on behalf of the NHS Let’s Talk service,
Cruse Bereavement Care as well as in private practice.
I also have experience of working with younger people
aged 16+ in a school setting.
I have been gaining academic and vocational experience
of counselling since 2008 and I studied for 3 years
in Bath at a counselling and psychotherapy training
institution (BCPC) which is accredited with the British
Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
I continue to be committed to a regular programme of continued professional development and training, for example in Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) for improving self confidence and reducing shame, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Younger People, and Stress Management.
I am listed on the BACP Register of Counsellors &
Psychotherapists which is a quality-assured scheme set
up by the Department of Health. As a Member of the BACP
I abide by their recognised Code of Ethics. I am bound
by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling
and Psychotherapy as set out by the BACP and subject
to the Professional Conduct Procedure therein. Click

Session Information...
An initial session provides
us both the opportunity of deciding whether or not working
together is appropriate at this time. There is no obligation
to continue the counselling beyond this session if you
decide it isn’t for you, however if an agreement
is made to continue, we would usually meet once a week
for as long as it feels therapeutically valuable to
do so.
We can work short or longer-term
depending on your needs and will agree on the goals
and focus of our work together, for example, some clients
prefer a more practical, solution focussed approach
and others require more space to explore and reflect.
All information disclosed by you,
the client, is treated as confidential. There may be
rare occasions when confidentiality has to be broken
and we will discuss this further at the initial session.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are
arranged at a mutually convenient date and time each
week should we agree to work together. My standard fee
for individuals is £45 per session, however
I am able to and do offer reduced price sessions so
please do not hesitate to enquire if this is unaffordable
to you.
